Back from holiday to a new PB

Getting back from holiday feeling sluggish and bloated meant an easy return to it.

Having spent the first week of holiday eating anything I could get my hands on, I was a lot more restrained the second week and actually came home a pound lighter and with 2 weeks rest in my legs. I did however feel very sluggish but with no immediate pressure to do anything I just did some easy runs to work to get back into it.

Saturday was back to points chasing in our Meltham AC parkrun championship and we went to Huddersfield where I managed a rather unexpected 1st place finish!

Circumstances were fortunate however as the guy who was leading and clearly faster than me took a wrong turn and as I was in second found myself leading from a mile in. A lead I managed to keep for my second Huddersfield win and amazingly (for me) 4 wins in the last 7 parkruns I’ve done!

I’d certainly not planned on a fast run and felt fairly comfortable going round so I was very surprised to run a new pb of 17:11 too. Pretty sure I can find the 12 seconds I want in order to run sub 17 on a faster course.
