Christmas party and a cold w.e 21/12/14

Bit gutted as I’d started the week strongly with decent effort back to back 10 milers, one on road and one off but that was about it for the week barring some good news.

I enjoyed my road loop into town and back on Monday and at 7:21/mile with only a mid/steady effort it felt quite good to break in the Pure Drift’s I’d snagged at random for only £29.99 in TK Maxx while I was supposed to be Christmas shopping.

That was then followed up by a nice run around West Nab including a climb up from Wessenden Trail through some steep fields which was a nice diversion and a little footpath I’d been meaning to check out for a while.

The rest of the week has rather tailed off, Christmas party on Thursday with work and then a cold that hit out of the blue on Friday meant I’ve been laid up resting the rest of the week.

There was however some exciting news on Tuesday, I was lucky in our club ballot for a London Marathon place so will be running it in April for Meltham AC so my plans for the first part of the year are now confirmed and my “A” race will be London.

I am looking forward to working hard to build speed and I’m going to be chasing a sub 3 hour time and doing all I can to push through that barrier and in the meantime I’m going to aim to push my 5 and 10k PB’s down as well.
