After illness last week, my knee has decided it wants attention now.
Having finally shaken the worst of last weeks stomach bug, I was looking forward to getting back into it this week and particularly getting out for a long run on Wednesday.
It’s all gone a bit wrong though, I had to abandon my long run at 12.5 miles with the most excruciating pain in my left knee. I don’t recall twisting it, I’d not tripped or jarred it. Just pain, out of nowhere.
I guess in some ways that’s not bad because it means it might be just a bit of a muscle tweak rather than a trauma but either way, having lost a week last week and now this week while I wait for a physio appointment I have half an eye on Hardmoors 60 looming in just 3 weeks time. Fingers crossed for the physio appointment.
In the meantime I’ve dug out the bike and ridden to and from work to try and keep me sane but I must say having become a dedicated runner in the last few years I don’t see the appeal of cycling alone in comparison! I’m also weak as a kitten when it comes to cycling fitness so I suppose a little cross training can’t be bad.
Been watching the UTMB online this weekend and that’s now firmly a target for summer 2017. The atmosphere looks amazing. Ally is going to take a crack at the OCC in 2016 so we’ll be looking at hitting up Chamonix in the next two summer holidays.
