Mountains and racing a barge – w/e 6/7/2014

Not your normal training week because of the epic Trail Team trip to Chamonix and a race at the weekend.

Some weeks, you know you’ll remember forever. This was one.

From Monday to Thursday I had the trip of a lifetime with the Berghaus Trail Team to run in Chamonix doing bigger back-to-back days than I’ve ever done before and as someone who also covers a reasonable amount of climbing each week, I ran 1/5th of the total I’ve done this year in just 3 days.

I followed that up by trying to race a barge on the saturday which went well enough if not quite to plan.

No wonder I feel a little wiped out and have a small ankle niggle caused by all that strain on my calves. Physio appointment tomorrow though so should be back up and on it again after a couple of days nice rest!

  • Monday – Rest
  • Tuesday – 17.9 miles
  • Wednesday – 16.4 miles
  • Thursday – 21.9 miles
  • Friday – Rest
  • Saturday – 4.5 miles (Man Vs Barge race)
  • Sunday – 3.5 miles

Total: 64.2 miles, 19,793ft elevation.
