Well this is a bit grim – Week ending 15th June 2014

I guess at some point I was due a week or two off running to rest and recover and it’s shown what a big part of my life it is now when I’m not doing it.

With the Trail Team trip to Chamonix 2 weeks away I’ve just had the first full week of no running pretty much since I first started running and it’s no certainly no fun but while I can run fairly comfortably still, something ain’t right so I chose to take the time off to rest up as there wasn’t anything in the diary until Chamonix and a 3 day web conference in Copenhagen in between there wasn’t going to be much meaningful running missed at least.

I dread the thought of a significant injury and feel sorry for those friends currently nursing long term aches and pains.

Got my physio appointment on tuesday so it’ll be nice to find out what’s out of whack and get it sorted at least so I can enjoy Chamonix having seen the agenda for the 3 days with the Trail Team which is:

  • Day 1 – 1/7: Mont-Blanc cross route – Chamonix-Chamonix. 23km and 1,454m altitude gain
  • Day 2 – 2/7: Courmayeur – La Peule, ±40km and ±2,000m altitude gain
  • Day 3 – 3/7: La Peule – Col de la Forclaz, ±30km and ±1,000m altitude gain

Can’t wait! I’d better stop scoffing everything in sight and get back to it this week as I’ve managed to put on about 6lbs in 2 weeks. The double curse of injury.

No running at all to report.
