Getting back to normal – w/e 29/06/2014

For the first time in a while, I’ve done a reasonable week of running and feel reasonably ready for a busy week in Chamonix followed by Man Vs Barge.

Now I’ve been doing my physio exercises for a week or so, my calves have improved significantly and the leg pain caused by the sciatic nerve has practically gone it’s nice to just get out and do some reasonable distance.

Most of this week was easy because of the Trail Team trip to Chamonix on Monday where there will be plenty of running and elevation and then on saturday the Man Vs Barge race I’ve been looking forward to but I did try and get a bit of hill climbing in and finished the week with a strong run up West Nab which I like as a good 30 minute, high intensity climb & descent.

Trail team time

It’s finally time to head off to Chamonix to catch up with the rest of the Berghaus trail team and I’m packed and ready to go. I’m looking forward to testing out the Berghaus gear on longer runs, typically I run shorter and faster races carrying as little as possible and some of the Berghaus kit looks and feels engineered for longer days out so it’s going to be great to finally put it through its paces (and review it later).
