I’m a champion!

Week Ending 24.01.2016

So after a great week last week I had another solid week rounded off with a very unexpected parkrun PB of 17:10 and the great news of official confirmation that I’ve won our club parkrun championship!

I hadn’t expected to run under 17:30 to be honest as I’m still not feeling that sharp on a Saturday morning but I figure right now that it’s a good time to go out hard and hang on at parkrun to see what happens as sometimes you can knock an unexpected chunk off your time and that very much happened.

Surprising after a 6.5 mile tempo run the day before and a speed session on Wednesday. Those easy recovery runs the rest of the week must be doing their job and to be getting out on a couple of the stunning mornings has been a pleasure.

It was also a timely reminder of where I am now and where I’ve come from in the last 4 years of running when Simon posted this shot of my first parkrun in Jan 2012!

So with the club parkrun championship officially mineĀ I can look back on another great week hitting 65 quality miles and a run-streak that actually stretches back to mid November as I continue working on getting consistent and quality mileage done.

Next couple of weeks are important with Dewsbury 10k on 7th Feb and then Windy Hill Fell Race on the 13th which if I finish in the top 4 (of Meltham runners) will secure me the club Fell Championship too so focus is on recovery and quality.
