Easy easy easy this week with London on Sunday, the big day is finally here.
I’ve tried full on tapering in the past, particularly when I trained hard for the Grizzly race in 2014 and found effectively taking a week off left me feeling sluggish and bloated on the start line so ever since I’ve opted for a simple drop in mileage to about half and lowering the intensity to nothing more than a jog where I literally don’t break into a sweat.
A few runs into work on a week where the weather was stunning helped just to keep the legs turning over and my mind off the big day a little but nothing much to report – going into London Marathon feeling well enough trained on balance and with the knee niggles and pain basically gone and on the back of a good race at West Nab last weekend all is good.
The London Marathon report will follow shortly.
