Smashed a PB

Week Ending 07.02.2016

I probably should still have squeezed in my speed session on Tuesday but Dewsbury 10k on Sunday would be fast enough anyway so I just took it easy instead.

The weekend was was the first of my two big races in two weekends and the first flat road 10k I’ve done since the same race a year ago when I ran 36:25. This week is week 8 of a 16-week block where I’ve been running a lot more very easy miles and doing intervals so I was hoping to see improvement, especially after a pb at parkrun the other week.

Not really much else to say for what was an easy week other than to repeat how much better I feel running to heart rate on easy days and staying below 135-140bpm. I can definitely feel that my fitness is improving by running to heart rate. Only 8 weeks ago 130-135bpm was about 8:50/mile pace, it’s already closer to 8 flat now so it’s quite exciting to see how that continues to evolve.

Beyond that. Sunday was the big PB and big day.
