Easter egg loading – Week ending 20th April 2014

A little disrupted due to the long easter weekend but nice to finally start getting back into a bit of a routine.

I’ve not run over the weekend despite wanting to try and get out and do a longish run but family time is more important so I spent much of easter sunday gorging on chocolate rather than running.

The week run commuting to work was pretty nice though, I managed a solid 51 miles in 5 days so not too bad and I’m definitely feeling that my “easy” pace has reached that threshold of just around the sub-8 minute mile mark and looks good for a reasonable summer of mile and pace building for Ladybower 50.

I managed to get out onto a great little up and down of West Nab, the significant hill I live halfway up, and use as a hard climbing test of fitness and managed to go from 700ft to 1600ft and back down in just 3.5 miles. I’m nearly able to run the whole way up now which is a good tester for sure. Not long now before I’ll be able to start pushing that route a little harder. The descent at 5:30/mile is good fun too!

Now to burn off some of the easter chocolate and take a look through the Racing Weight Cookbook I bought the other week, it’s actually got some really nice looking and easy to make grub in there.
