Trail running on Helvellyn – Week ending 27th April 2014

A solid enough week of mileage leading up to an incredible weekend up in the Lake District running in the epic fells with the Berghaus Trail Team shortlisted folks.

More on that in a separate post, as it was such an awesome weekend though.

The rest of the week was a decent one with the first longish run I’ve managed in a while (monday’s 14.6 miler) thanks to Easter bank holiday and it was good feeling strong again and were it not simply for time running out, I could have happily carried on at that pace for much longer.

The rest of the week was mostly about the simple act of commuting as I had the lakes in mind. Still, good to get 50 weekday miles in.

It was the first time I’ve run in the lakes and it was incredible. We ran up Helvellyn via Swirral Edge which was pretty scary, never scrambled like that and it was quite an experience.
