London recovery

London took a lot out of me so I’ve spent most of the week eating and resting.

It took until Wednesday before I felt I do a little recovery/shakeout run to get my bashed up legs moving as I’d originally intended to do the Cake Race on Saturday but in the end I didn’t make it to that as we had other family commitments instead although to be fair a tough 10 mile fell race 6 days after London probably wasn’t going to be pretty.

I did manage a reasonable steady 10 miler to work on Thursday which felt good and beyond that I’ve spent the week chilling out and thinking about the next training cycle which is going to start in earnest after the Transylvania 50k.

The plan is going to be to ease my way from 55ish miles a week to 70 over the next couple of months to put myself into good shape to be sub 17 for 5k but also the longer term goal is to take a real crack at placing high in the Hardmoors 60 in September and I think 70 mpw is a good marker for that.
