Recovering from the White Rose Ultra – w.e 09/11/2014

After my efforts in the White Rose Ultra, I needed a few days off as my quads and glutes felt like they’d been tenderised!

I’ve got the Frostbite 30 coming up in 3 weeks time but I figure I’ll simply do the same as I did for the White Rose and keep to some shorter fast runs to keep fitness up in the next couple of weeks before I wind down for the year and figure out what’s next.

As it happened this week despite me making use of the available sports massage at the White Rose, my legs felt absolutely spent from what was an absolute maximum effort for me at the weekend so I didn’t end up running until Thursday when I jogged into work with Ally.

It was nice getting this month’s Trail Running Magazine and seeing my mugshot in it too!

Sunday was a nice change as Ally & I went out for a run but which ended more as a cross hike/run although I did get to try out my Quechua waterproof trousers which I bought mostly for FRA kit check but of course want them to be useful. For £8.99 they pack down small and fit reasonably well.
