A windy finish – Week ending 9th Feb 2014

I finally made the jump this week and got round to officially joining Meltham AC and ground out some more miles.

I’m looking forward to getting the rather, err, distinctive team vest on in a race at some point in the not too distant future but it’s nice to finally commit to supporting the club.

Beyond that, it’s just been a week of base building again at just over 60 miles but I’ve been quite aware that recently the pace I’ve doing my easy runs at is too fast and I can feel the fatigue building a little so I’ve been making sure I slow back a bit to avoid injury with The Grizzly only 4 weeks away.

Saturday’s long run around West Nab/Wessenden Trail was brutal. The storms battering the country meant some gale force winds over the tops were testing to say the least and there were several points where I was doing walking pace but with running effort just to keep moving forward!
