As the first proper A-Race of the year looms on the 1st of March (The 20 mile Grizzly), I’m focused on quality and recovery as much as possible.

Took it fairly easy this week as I had Dewsbery 10k on Sunday and I wanted to really push hard to get a PB.
Brutal long runs – w.e 25/1/2015
In yet another week disrupted by snow, I did manage to get the first hard effort long run in my plan done and by god it hurt.
Disrupted by the Spine Race w.e 18/1/15
I knew this week would be tough, Ally was away for the week working at The Spine Race so training would be tricky as I was solo parenting and we were having a new bathroom fitted.
Tempo sessions began in earnest this week and while hard work I’m enjoying it.
According to the calendar it’s time to start training for London so time to hit the roads.
Racing Olympians – w.e 28/12/14
Ended the week with the Chevin Chase where you get to toe the line with the Brownlee brothers. Then watch them disappear into the distance.
Christmas party and a cold w.e 21/12/14
Bit gutted as I’d started the week strongly with decent effort back to back 10 milers, one on road and one off but that was about it for the week barring some good news.
Another crappy race w.e 06/12/14
Frostbite 30 was supposed to be a race I was going to take reasonably steady and hopefully do alright in with some good pacing practice but it didn’t work out. Again
2000 miles and monster hills – w.e 30/11/2014
For the first time in several weeks, I’ve actually met my 50 mile a week goal on Strava and got some real speed in the legs chasing segments.
