Racing Olympians – w.e 28/12/14
Ended the week with the Chevin Chase where you get to toe the line with the Brownlee brothers. Then watch them disappear into the distance.
Christmas party and a cold w.e 21/12/14
Bit gutted as I’d started the week strongly with decent effort back to back 10 milers, one on road and one off but that was about it for the week barring some good news.
I felt really down after Frostbite last week, despite it not being an A race for me, I’d still hoped to do well on what looked a very runnable and speedy course through some lovely countryside, my DNF felt really significant after a few days thought.
Another crappy race w.e 06/12/14
Frostbite 30 was supposed to be a race I was going to take reasonably steady and hopefully do alright in with some good pacing practice but it didn’t work out. Again
I only lasted 14 miles. 14 dismal, disjointed and unevenly paced miles before knocking it on the head.
6 months with the Berghaus Trail Team
I can’t believe as this calendar year starts to wrap up and more and more training is done in the darkness of the short days that’s it’s been an amazing 6 months being part of the Berghaus Trail Team.
2000 miles and monster hills – w.e 30/11/2014
For the first time in several weeks, I’ve actually met my 50 mile a week goal on Strava and got some real speed in the legs chasing segments.
Back on it with longer runs – w.e 23/11/2014
Winter’s certainly drawing in now and there’s little scope to get out early or late without it being pitch black but I need to get back onto the weekly long runs now.

The year is starting to wrap up now with only the Frostbite 30 Ultra and Chevin Chase booked in, I’m looking forward to planning for next year.
